Name?
Christy Davis
What are three adjectives you would use to best describe yourself?
Fun, silly, and caring
Can you tell us a little about your family and/or pets?
I have been married to Bryan for almost 5 years, after having a crush on him in high school and going almost ten years after graduation without talking to him at all! He is my best friend and so worth waiting for. We have two children, Hannah (3) and Logan (1 ½) who keep me very busy. I feel so blessed!
How long have you been scrapbooking?
I’ve been scrapbooking since I got married, so almost 5 years!
Why did you begin scrapbooking?
I wanted to start documenting the adventures my husband and I went on together after we got married. My first page was of our new house, but I still haven’t scrapped all of my wedding pictures! J
What has been the most interesting or exciting scrapbooking experience you’ve had?
This fall I was privileged to be able to be a part of three design teams that have kept me busy, challenged, and enjoying scrapbooking. It’s been such a fun and stretching experience and I hope to continue to be involved with others in the future.
What is your favorite manufacturer(s)?
I love American Crafts, Pink Paislee, Sassafrass Lass, and 3 Bugs in a Rug probably the most for paper lines. Heidi Swapp is my favorite all around designer/manufacturer for other products.
What are your favorite colors?
My favorite colors are yellow and pink – I love how bright, cheery, and girly they are!
What product(s) can you not live without right now?
Thickers! I use them on almost every page and love how easy they are for titles. I also am liking the tiny alpha stickers by Making Memories and My Little Shoebox for other words on layouts.
Where do you find inspiration?
I love to read my Creating Keepsakes magazine every month when it comes in the mail. I also love checking out designers’ blogs.
What do you do when you get stuck in a “scrappers rut” or a “creative block”?
I pull out some magazines and look through them. I also organize layouts I’ve loved out of magazines or sketches by number of photos in them, so when I’m stuck beginning a page, I can go to the sheet protector that has ideas with as many photos on the page as I have for my page. This always helps me get going.
What is your favorite scrapping snack?
Chex Mix
What kind of camera do you have?
I have a Canon Rebel XTi, and I also just got a Canon Cybershot camera so that I have something lightweight for traveling.
Do you shoot pictures in manual or automatic?
I am trying to shoot mostly in manual or somewhat manual, but sometimes with little kids, I just can’t figure it out fast enough to keep up with them!
What is your favorite thing(s) to photograph?
My kiddos. I also enjoy taking pictures of anything that has to do with certain holidays.
Do you have any hobbies besides scrapbooking?
I love to read, especially Christian fiction. I’m a huge Karen Kingsbury fan. I also love to shop, but I try not to indulge in that hobby too much or it could be dangerous! J
What is your best piece of advice to share with other scrapbookers?
Don’t be afraid to try new things and just have fun. In this scrapbooking culture, I think it’s easy to be pressured into making every layout look good enough to be submitted for something. That’s not what our families are going to remember, so try to remember what ultimately you are scrapbooking for. Make every page YOU, even if it ends up looking totally different than what is “in” and being accepted for magazine publications right now.
We're back with another design team feature - this time it's a Q&A with Anne-Marie!

What is your best piece of advice to share with other scrapbookers? Remember why you scrap – for yourselves and for your loved ones – as a means of recording and preserving precious memories and remember they are your audience. Do not lose vision of that and get caught up with all the ‘glamour’ and ‘glitz’ of the scrapping world. J
